Hello! My name is Javier Moreno and I’m part of the corporate communications team at Toyota. Earlier this week I had an opportunity to attend a special event in which our friends at Holman Toyota presented the Ronald McDonald House of Southern New Jersey with a new Toyota Sienna as part of our company’s 100 Cars for Good program. Now in its second year, the program awards 100 vehicles over the course of 100 days to 100 deserving nonprofit organizations based on votes from the public. The Ronald McDonald House of Southern New Jersey was the latest organization to receive a vehicle from Toyota.
Ronald McDonald himself was the first to take a ride from the Toyota dealership to the Ronald McDonald House in Camden, New Jersey. Upon arrival, we were greeted by staffers, volunteers and families staying at the House who celebrated the occasion with an outdoor carnival. The Ronald McDonald House will use their new Sienna to transport families who are residing at the House to hospitals in South Jersey, Philadelphia and the surrounding region, where their children are undergoing medical treatments.
As part of the 100 Cars for Good program, Toyota provides every finalist with a digital video camera, a training toolkit and free online advertising credits to help them create or expand their presence in social media and other digital platforms. The nonprofit finalists use these resources and can continue to build on them after the program.
Over the last 20 years, Toyota has contributed more than $600 million to nonprofits throughout the U.S. The 100 Cars for Good program allows us to build on that commitment in important, innovative ways by providing nonprofits with the necessary resources to make an even bigger impact in their local communities. Toyota is proud to partner with the Ronald McDonald House of Southern New Jersey, and we look forward to supporting more of our nation’s nonprofits doing great work both nationally and locally. Be sure to visit the 100 Cars for Good’s Facebook page to learn more about this year’s winners!
