Toyota and innovation go hand-in-hand. Since 1973, when Toyota established its design operations in North America, we’ve sought team members from diverse backgrounds and regions to help us develop our products. Today, our Calty Design Research division has offices in Newport Beach and San Francisco, California and Ann Arbor, Michigan. In California, Calty continues the state's reputation as a place of cutting-edge thinking by creating design solutions for Toyota, Lexus, and Scion product development. Toyota Innovation Hub connects creative individuals and entities to make a difference in future mobility. In Ann Arbor, Calty operates a production design center that’s responsible for production design development for all of North America. Calty has contributed styling for production models such as the ‘07 FJ Cruiser, ‘08 Scion xB, ‘09 Venza, ‘11 Sienna, ‘13 Avalon, and ‘11 Scion tC and '13 Lexus GS Interior, and created the concept vehicles, Scion t2B, Scion FUSE, FT-HS, A-BAT, FUN-vii, and Lexus LF-LC. Altogether, Calty Design Research, Inc. has more than 100 team members and represents a $2.9 million investment.
