Helping Our Dealers Go Greenclose
At Toyota, we’re committed to protecting the environment through designing more environmentally sensitive vehicles, and also by making sure our business and manufacturing facilities employ more sustainable, green practices. For us, it’s a way of living we share with dealers, suppliers and other partners.
For example, Toyota works closely with our dealers to help make their building projects as environmentally friendly as possible. Currently, 11 Toyota U.S. facilities and 18 of our dealerships have obtained LEED certification through our collaboration with them. LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is a green building certification system developed by the U.S Green Building Council. LEED recognizes projects that implement strategies for better environmental and health performance. In fact, Kendall Toyota in Eugene, Oregon, is the only LEED Platinum-certified dealership in the world. And in Texas alone, we’ve helped four dealerships – in Granbury, Rockwall, McKinney and Fort Worth – achieve LEED status.
