Toyota team members bring pride to everything they do.

It all began with an idea born out of respect for American ingenuity and the abilities of the U.S. workforce. In 1985, Toyota made the decision to unite its manufacturing know-how with U.S. pride to produce a car made in America, by Americans.* In 1986, Toyota broke ground in Georgetown and in 1988 our first vehicle rolled off the line. Today, Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky, Inc. (TMMK) employs more than 6,000 people spread over 1,300 acres, and is Toyota’s largest vehicle manufacturing plant outside of Japan. Our $6.0 billion investment here gives us the capacity to build* 500,000 vehicles and engines each year, including the Avalon/Avalon Hybrid, Camry/Camry Hybrid, Venza, Lexus ES starting in 2015, as well as 4-cylinder and V-6 engines and powertrain parts.
