Toyota Teams Up with Mississippi for Innovation Educationclose
Students from across three Mississippi counties will soon have access to specialized classes designed to help them get an early start on their careers. Toyota and the CREATE Foundation, along with leaders in the Mississippi education community, have joined together to launch the “The Center for Professional Futures.” This innovative, cross-county program will offer career “academies” for high school students in fields such as computer graphics and animation, pre-engineering, architecture, legal studies, advanced manufacturing and health science technology.
The project is part of Toyota’s 10-year, $50 million commitment to the eight school districts within Pontotoc, Union and Lee Counties. The Toyota endowment fund will generate ongoing annual funds to operate the Center, which could open as early as fall 2013.
